Are you planning a holiday to Singapore? The Lion City is uber-modern, fabulous, and filled with luxuries and entertainment. It’s a place where you go to indulge in the finer things in life. If it’s your first-time visiting Singapore, you might wonder how to get to your hotel from the airport and then get around. Let’s explore all the ways of transport from Changi Airport.

How to get a taxi from Changi Airport?

Have you booked a Kitchener Road hotel? If so, you can reach your hotel in under 20 minutes from the airport if you take a taxi. The minimum number of people per taxi is 4 in Singapore. If your group is larger, you can arrange for a private transfer. Hotels like PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road, Singapore might even offer to schedule a private transfer if your group is large.

But you don’t necessarily have to ask the hotel to book your taxi. All the terminals at the airport have individual taxi stands. If your plane is scheduled to land during busy hours, book using the Comfortdelgro app to avoid queues. However, taxis can be expensive in Singapore. You can pay by cash or opt for credit card payments. The latter involves an admin fee of 10%.

How to use ride-hailing to get to the hotel from Changi Airport?

Ride-hailing is rather popular in Singapore. The most popular app is Grab, but there are a few others that you can use. You can use Gojek or Comfortdelgro app. Both Grab and Gojek include surge pricing during busy hours.

Before you book your ride through the app go to the ‘Arrival Pick-up,’ as these points are located far from the arrival terminals. The Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 ‘Arrival Pick Up’ location is in the basement. Terminal 2 and Terminal 4 Arrival Pick Up locations are on level 1.

How to use the MRT to get to the hotel from Changi Airport?

Mass Rapid Transit or MRT is the cheapest and fastest way to get around in Singapore. You’ll need to buy a travel card at the MRT station. MRT leaves Changi Airport from 5:30 am until 11.18 pm from Monday to Saturday.

On Sundays and Singapore public holidays, MRT operates between 6 30am to 11.18 pm. You can only access the MRT from Terminals 2 and 3. If you’re in Terminal 1 use the Skytrain to get to the MRT point, and from terminal 4, take the shuttle bus to Terminal 2. The airport MRT ends at the Tanah Merah Interchange, but from there you can change routes.

How to get a bus from Changi Airport?

Taking a bus from the airport used to be a little confusing. But, with Google maps, you should be safe. All you have to do is enter the origin and where you need to go to the app, and viola you’ll be directed to the bus. You do need exact cash to pay for your bus ride as the ticket slots don’t issue change.

You can wait for the bus near the ‘Bus to City’ sign and enter the bus using the front door. Ask the driver for the rate to your destination and insert the cash into the box near the driver. You can collect your ticket from the box behind the driver. Remember to keep the ticket with you until you get off the bus.

If you’re paying by card, there should be a card reader close to the front door. When you see that your stop is coming up next, press the bell. You need to use the back door to exit. If you’re using a travel card, you need to tap the card reader before exiting. Buses run from 5: 30 am to 11: 30 pm.
