Da Nang is visited by travellers not only for the pristine waters and sandy beaches and other natural beauty but also to explore the French Village situated at the Bana Hills with beautiful design and architecture influenced by the French during their colonization of the country. Being a city not overly populated and with good infrastructure in place makes it even more enjoyable whilst the various forms of transport facilitate getting about in Da Nang without a problem.



On your arrival in Da Nang

The Da Nang Airport is only 3 km from the city centre, however, public transport between the airport and the city centre is limited to only one bus service (Route 12) for which a 10-minute walk is necessary to get to the bus stand. 

Therefore, most visitors arriving in Da Nang tend to book accommodation near Danang airport and use a private shuttle service or use the airport taxi service which is quicker and more efficient to get to the hotel, those using hotels away from the airport tend to do the same.

GrabCar & Taxi Services

GrabCar  - This service is a reliable private hired vehicle service operated in many large cities in Vietnam including Da Nang. It is reliable and the rates are reasonable. It is best to have this app on your smartphone before you visit Da Nang as usually done by visitors at hotels such as Citadines Blue Cove Danang.

This is a customer-friendly service too permitting you to settle the fare using your credit card and getting the GrabCar to your location is simpler. Do ensure that you are on data connectivity or have internet access when using this service.

Taxi Service – There will be occasions during your stay when you may need to use a taxi service in Da Nang or a suburban area. Catching a taxi at the airport or from the city centre is quite easy. The taxis are metered, which is appreciated by all visitors. Since all drivers may not be fluent in English have your drop point written down, such as the business card of the hotel if you are getting back there. Once you are in Da Nang you will be familiar with the reputed taxi companies, if you are not sure check with the hotel staff.

Dichungtaxi – This is a recently introduced shared taxi service you can use to travel more economically, of course, you can also travel single by taking a private taxi. You book the service online and the drivers receive the request. If you choose the share option, you can share the ride with those headed in the same direction. Your price is fixed once the option is selected.

Rented Motorbikes

This is a mode of transport used by many young visitors to Da Nang and enjoyed much for the excitement it provides on the wide roads in Da Nang and the enormous flexibility one has in getting about seeing places on these motorbikes.This is best used by those visitors who are used to riding motorbikes as traffic in Vietnam may be different to the traffic you are used to back home. Both manual and automatic bikes are available whilst the auto transmission bikes are taken fast. The average motorbike rental per day is equivalent to 6 USD.


GrabBike/Motorbike 

TaxisGrabBike – If you are a keen visitor and cannot ride a bike you can still explore Da Nang using this exciting option which is quite popular in Southeast Asia. Cheap and convenient the operation is like GrabCar. You get dropped off at your requested location and pay by credit card.

Motorbike taxi – This is similar to GrabBike however with older drivers who are familiar with the terrain. It is best to agree on the fare before you commence the ride.

Cyclo

This is a mode of travel, especially for tourists serving as a sightseeing expedition. The pedal-powered reclining chair gives the visitors a chance to admire the scenery and the buildings etc. at a slower pace. This can add to the authentic Vietnam cultural experience of your visit.
