A beautiful and prosperous coastal city situated between Hoi An and Nha Trang, Quy Nhon remains relatively unspoilt despite having a coastal stretch of 42 km backed by mountains, golden rice fields and the towers of 11th century Champa Kingdom still being preserved.  Apart from the seaside beauty Quy Nhon is litter free with wide promenades that appeal to visitors. With regular domestic flights and a good ground transportation network, there are many ways in which to get to and around Quy Nhon.

Arriving by Air

Built on an old American air base the Phu Cat Airport lies 30 km northwest of Quy Nhon city. International Passengers bound for Quy Nhon must arrive in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi which are served by international flights and transfer to a domestic flight to arrive at Phu Cat airport, Quy Nhon.10 flights operate between Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Cat airport whilst 3 to 4 flights operate between  Hanoi and Quy Nhon. This gives many options to those visitors arriving by air bound to Quy Nhon resorts. Your first encounter with Quy Nhon is when landing at Phu Cat airport which offers a great view of the landscape of Quy Nhon city.On arrival at Phu Cat airport, most visitors use a taxi which can be booked from the many services available at the airport as done by visitors to Avani Quy Nhon Resort,.whilst some visitors book the taxi service in advance. There is a shuttle bus service which is very reasonably priced dropping off arriving passengers at a central point in Quy Nhon which can be made use of if you are travelling light.

Using Train service

The railway station at Quy Nhon is on a branch of the main Reunification Express Line thus railway service is not so frequent. However, Dieu Tri railway station which is a 25-minute drive from Quy Nhon town centre has regular train services from Ho Chi Minh City as well as from Hanoi daily.The train journey from Ho Chi Minh City to Dieu Tri takes 10 to 12 hours whilst the journey from Hanoi to Dieu Tri takes about 20 hours. Night trains are possible with berths of 4 sleepers in a cabin. Whilst the train journey is long, it is relatively cheaper and if you take a daytime train the journey is through fascinating landscape providing a great experience.Once you arrive at Dieu Tri station use a taxi to get to your hotel.

Arriving by bus

Many bus companies operate services between Quy Nhon and surrounding cities. Several night buses (sleeper bus services) operating from Mien Dong bus station in Ho Chi Minh City arrive at the Quy Nhon bus station located at the southern end of Big C Supermarket. The bus journey takes 12-14 hours and the charges are ideal for budget travellers.

Getting about in Quy Nhon

As visitors to Quy Nhon, many enjoy spending time around the spectacular beaches and other attractions. Motorbikes are the convenient and popular mode of travel used by them as the distances can be vast and using hired vehicles can be costly.Furthermore, having a motorbike arranged early during your stay saves you a great deal of time waiting for a vehicle to pick you up. Therefore, book this through your hotel or from a rental shop recommended by where you are booked.For those who would rather have someone local drive you about, there are numerous motorbike taxis and Grab bikes available at affordable rates. Cycling is another option available for those who are spending longer periods as the landscape is beautiful and there is a fine promenade inviting cyclists to savour a ride.There are two reputed taxi services available which run on metres and they are reliable and efficient whenever you need a more comfortable mode of travel. Hailing taxis which are not metred is not advisable.
