Chengdu is famous for Sichuan cuisine and its adorable pandas. A lot of new establishments are popping up all around this area. Opening soon will be upscale hotels and other types of housing, restaurants, retail centres, and art galleries. Having just said that the city maintains its relatively laid-back feel, where residents may enjoy their tea while surrounded by verdant parklands. Therefore, one may get a feel for both the modern and traditional aspects of city life in Chengdu.

Look

Your time in this area would be lacking if you did not take advantage of the opportunities to explore the local attractions. You may go shopping at some of the city's newest establishments. Not only are they convenient for shopping, but the structure itself has earned a reputation for being an excellent example of architectural design. The Taikoo Li can be found in the Jinjiang area. It is an open-air arcade that has early traditional architecture. This architecture was influenced by a Temple that is over a millennium old and is known as the Buddhist Daci Temple. This arcade here is home to some of the most prestigious brands in the world, including Chloe, Gucci, and Hermes, in addition to some of the most well-known street brands, such as Muji and Zara. The underground bookstore known as Fangsuo Commune is a great place for those who have a passion for reading. To make things easier for you, make sure you book apartments closer to the city centre as getting to places will be much more convenient. For instance, you can check out Chengdu apartments for rent the likes of Citadines Gaoxin Chengdu.

 Wildlife

Perhaps the most noteworthy is the fact that the city is well-known for its pandas. The city is home to around 80 per cent of the world's total panda population. As a consequence of this, you may discover a large number of visitors from all over the world visiting each year. The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is situated in close proximity to the city and is home to at least one hundred pandas. Make sure you get there early, at the very least by 7:30 in the morning. As the hours tick by, larger throngs of people start to come. However, this is not the only reason you should show up there ahead of schedule. Pandas have a reputation for being slothful animals. You will need to get an early start if you want to get a glimpse of them in action. Even little baby pandas may be seen dozing and stretching inside the nurseries.

Eat

Chengdu is known for its Sichuan food, thus, make sure that you taste these delicious flavours! You are going to love it! How good? UNESCO labelled this city as the very first city of gastronomy across Asia. You may try restaurants like Wide and Narrow Alleys for real local cuisine. However, there is a vast assortment of eateries, from high-end restaurants to street sellers. Make absolutely sure to sample silky tofu, dan dan mian, rabbit heads, pig snouts, and the sorts for a genuinely extraordinary cuisine experience, one which you may not be subjected to in some other regions of the world. Having mentioned that, after you have had a decent dose of the local food and would like to try something else, you need not fear. There are more foreign cuisines out here.

The Absolute Highpoints of Chengdu

The parks located outside of Chengdu provide the loveliest scenery. The Heming Teahouse at People's Park is widely considered to be one of the city's most visited parks. You may also find many locals out here having a cup of tea as they play mahjong. Some people will also be practising their calligraphy. It is easier to get inspiration when one is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery.
