How to enjoy Mahe – a week in Seychelles

Mahe is the place to go if you love beach hopping. To make things easier, book an all-inclusive resort in Seychelles. Some resorts like the Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas might offer deals if you check in early. Take a day or two to explore the beaches in Mahe. Start with Baie Lazare and make your way through Anse Intendance and Anse Royale. Reserve Beau Vallon for the last to enjoy a spectacular sunset. In between beach hopping, visit the Takamaka Rum Distillery or else the tea factory. You can learn more about the island’s tale if you visit the Le Jardin Du Roi Spice Garden. The latter is home to a spice homestead, a historical museum and nature trails. You can catch vistas of beauty atop the hilltop garden.

How to enjoy Victoria - a week in Seychelles

Victoria – one of the smallest capitals in the world is not short of entertainment. Go to the tropical Seychelles National Botanical Gardens to immerse in its bounty. The Seychelles Natural History Museum is rather small but filled with interesting displays. Don’t miss out on a visit to the Victoria Market. This particular market dates back to the 1800s. You can find some exquisite pieces of locally sourced jewellery at the market along with many-hued t-shirts to take home from a sunshine island holiday. Try some Seychelles specialities at food stalls. Feast on fresh fish and juicy tropical fruit.

How to enjoy Victoria’s off the beaten track - a week in Seychelles

Make your way towards the mountain road - Sans Souci to aptly leave your worries behind. The road leads to hilltops and you can try your stamina with a hike. The steep hike will take you to the giant granite boulders that make a backdrop to Victoria. You’ll catch views of St. Anne Marine National Park and even Praslin on a clear day.

How to enjoy Praslin – a week in Seychelles

Catch an early morning ferry to Praslin from Victoria’s Inter-Island ferry port. Catch a cab to go to the Vallée de Mai national park. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and you’ll see the rare coco de mer palm trees – native to Seychelles. There are hiking trails all across the park and stunning views. After lunch, go to Anse Lazio beach. You’ll find immaculately rising boulders, blue-green salty waters and silky sand. The place is perfect for sinking into the bliss of the seaside. Tuck into a seafood buffet, drink wine and simply relax.

How to enjoy a day trip to Curieuse and St. Pierre Islands

You can either book a private water taxi or join a group tour to visit the Curieuse and St. Pierre Islands from Praslin. Curieuse is blessed with lush greenery and the famed giant Aldabra tortoises call it home and wander freely. From this island, you can take a glass-bottomed-kayak or speedboat to St. Pierre. Once in St. Pierre, you’ll feel like you just stepped into the South of France. St. Pierre was once a beloved French settlement. Take your time to drink in the lingering colonial vibe and dine on elegant French fare. Drink French wine and rum before you head back to Praslin.
